Responsibilities of A Safety Coach!
Safety coaches play an extremely vital role in making and keeping the BMDH event a success. You play an important part in keeping the environment safe on the way to, at, and on the way back from the hunting blind. We rely on you to remind and assist the kids in basic firearms safety such as: keeping the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, engaging the firearm safety when not in use, maintaining a safe zone of fire, keeping the firearm's action open and unloaded to and from the hunting blind, etc. This knowledge is gained and demonstrated in the education stations participants attend throughout the day. However, their skills in executing this knowledge is extended and ingrained with the help of a quality safety coach. We hope you will consider becoming one!
